Since its founding in 1987, The Saison Foundation has focused on creative activities in the field of contemporary theater and dance, providing long-term support programs such as giving a continuous 3-year grant to applicants. The Foundation has also made the effort to establish infrastructures by giving grants for overseas arts management education and research programs. In 1994, the Foundation established the Morishita Studio, which is rented out for rehearsals. The Saison Foundation is commended for leading the field of contemporary dance in Japan through these comprehensive programs.
