2017 New Year’s Greetings
Happy New Year to you all.
I hope you celebrated the start of 2017 in good spirits with family and friends.
In 2016, we have witnessed more diverse corporate support of the arts spreading across the country as well as developing richer society than previous years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our corporate members and individuals who have supported our activities.
This year, we are encouraging more participants to take advantage of our 2021 Social Creativity through Arts and Culture Fund (2021Arts Fund).
We regard the year of 2020 as one of the turning point. This fund aims to promote arts and culture to create the future after 2020 with a hope to help the management of the support program to shape the will of donors.
Our GBFund is, of course, still active, and continue to support more artistic and cultural restoration activities in affected areas, together with our donors.
In addition, we are strengthening our `This is MECENAT’ and `MECENAT Award’, which will introduce Japan’s finest and diverse activities of corporate support in the field of arts and culture this year,
With our 3-year project ‘Research and Conference in Facilitating Corporate Mecenat Activities and Establishing a Network in ASEAN countries’, we hope to continue introducing the history and philosophy of Japanese corporate Mecenat globally and hope to keep growing together.
As we welcome a brand-new year, we are strengthening our governance and management structure as ‘private arts council’ to ensure the stability of our role as a platform for arts and cultural promotion.
Lastly, I wish that this year will be a wonderful year for all of you.
Mr. Motoki Ozaki
President, Association for Corporate Support of the Arts
